Manchester United star Sergio Romero has unfortunately been dropped by the Argentina national side after suffering an injury that will keep him out of the World Cup.

The goalkeeper will surely be missed by his country as he’s their first choice and couldn’t have had worst timing with the knock.

The competition in Russia is just weeks away and so there’s not enough time for Romero to recover, leaving the South American nation toiling for a replacement.

Though the experienced player is United’s second choice goalkeeper behind David de Gea, he’s still considered to be a top talent.

Many believe he’s perhaps the best number two in the world given his. natural ability as well as experience with the national team.

According to the Daily Mail, the nation’s official twitter account confirmed Sergio suffered a joint blockage in his right knee that will keep him out of the World Cup.

Jose Mourinho had commented on how his injuries this season have seen him unfortunately miss out on match time and it appears there’s no end to his bad luck yet.

The Red Devils themselves will be hoping he’ll be fit and firing ahead of the next season but will know they have another decent back up in reserve in the form of Joel Pereira.
