Manchester United turn to Lorenzo Pellegrini as Marouane Fellaini replacement: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Lorenzo Pellegrini as they keep one eye on the future with Marouane Fellaini‘s potential departure.

Jose Mourinho is said to have Shakhtar’s Fred deal all but officially completed but he has not stopped there in terms of midfield additions.

Arsenal are reportedly also interested in Pellegrini but United are keeping tabs on him instead of their initial priority target Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbian is clearly going to cost a tonne of money and so Mourinho has moved on to other players on his shortlist.

That’s where the Italian comes in as he’s not expected to be too difficult to pry away from the Serie A side.

According to Inside Futbol, Manchester Evening News reports that the Red Devils are interested in bringing in Roma’s Lorenzo to bolster their midfield in case Marouane leaves.

The Belgian’s contract runs out this summer and with every passing minute he appears more likely to be moved on.

It’s said that Manchester United have put a contract on the table for him but he’s unhappy with the terms being offered.

Jose has made it clear that he hopes to hold onto Marouane Fellaini but seems to be lining up a replacement just in case.
