Gary Neville: Manchester United need three or four more signings

Gary Neville believes Manchester United need three or four more signings in order to complete their squad ahead of the next Premier League season.

Jose Mourinho is said to be on the look out for central midfielders, centre backs and full backs this summer transfer window though there’s yet to be any ins or outs just yet.

The Portuguese manager has discussed the need to revamp his midfield and defence as he insisted he’s happy with his attacking options.

Neville has been rather repeatedly saying for a few seasons now that United are just a few signings away from challenging for the title.

However, this time the club legend has revealed what type of players Mourinho should be going for though he hasn’t dropped any names.

According to the Sport Review, Gary said on his Sky Sports podcast: “They need three or four signings added to the squad. Players who know how to win and not to drop their standards.”

Players who know how to win and not drop their standards sounds like the former right back is talking about leaders.

The current Red Devils’ squad are currently lacking in that area, particularly since Michael Carrick has now retired.

Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young and Paul Pogba have all taken turns with the captain’s armband at times and so it will be interesting to see who Jose picks as his captain next season.
