Jose Mourinho has reportedly made contact with Marko Arnautovic’s agent as he steps up his interest in the West Ham star.
The Portuguese manager is said to be keen on finding a back-up striker to Romelu Lukaku and the Austrian is said to be the perfect addition.
Mourinho is keen to give his forward line some depth after the Belgian’s injury towards the end of the season costed Manchester United some points and possibly the FA Cup as well.
Lukaku couldn’t start the match after fitness concerns but did come off the bench although it didn’t help his team much.
Arnautovic is reportedly the ideal candidate since his strength and pace are similar attributes to the former Everton striker as well.
According to the Daily Star, Osterreich report that Jose has made contact with Marko’s brother Danijel who’s also his agent ahead of a summer move.
All three stars are not known for their strength or hold-up play and instead typically get in behind opposition lines instead.
This simply doesn’t work with Jose Mourinho‘s tactics though there’s an argument to be made that he should cater to his player’s strengths instead of forcing them into his methods.
