Everton interested in signing Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof: report

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof in one of the surprises of the transfer window.

The Toffees have recently appointed Marco Silva as their head coach and it’s said that he’s a fan of the Swede.

Lindelof was signed by Jose Mourinho from Benfica with the hopes that he could slot immediately into the starting XI.

Unfortunately the centre-back needed time to adjust and was instead used as a rotational option though he did stack up double figures in appearances.

However, it seems he could already be on the move as Mourinho may be tempted by Everton’s offer for him.

According to Sport Bible, the Mirror report that Everton are willing to spend £35m in order to sign Victor even though he’s only had one season with the Red Devils.

Jose already has the likes of Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly on board with some youngsters such as Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Axel Tuanzebe also fighting for a place.

The Portuguese manager is said to be keen on signing a top centre-back this summer too, meaning there’s even less space for the aforementioned names.

Competition is normally good but it seems that United are overstocked in the position which could mean Lindelof leaving.
