Juventus have set out an asking price of £52.7m for left-back and Manchester United target Alex Sandro, according to reports.
Manchester United paid the same amount to secure the services of Fred, who officially completed his move to Old Trafford last Thursday.
Left-back has been an area in need of reinforcement for some time and Sandro is seen as the club’s primary option for that position, although there is no sign that contact has been made with Juventus regarding the Brazilian.
Some reports have claimed Juventus are in no mood to sell Sandro, but according to Mediaset Premium the 28-year-old will be available for around €60m this summer.
Man United have been and will continue to be in contact with Juventus this summer. A deal for Matteo Darmian, for example, has been discussed but not finalised. The Old Lady have expressed keen interest in Anthony Martial, who wants to leave this window. Jose Mourinho, in turn, wants Mario Mandzukic.
Amid all of that, United surely must have mentioned Sandro, a player whose spring going forward and technical maturity would serve as a notable upgrade to Ashley Young. No progress, however, seems to have been made (or at least revealed). This could turn out to be something of a long winded saga.
