Manchester United star Phil Jones believes England know what they need to do against Belgium in the third round of the group stage matches of the World Cup.
The two nations have already qualified for the next stage but will go head to head in order to try and top the table themselves in the hopes that it will give them an easier route to the final.
The Englishman has yet to start a match for his country with Gareth Southgate preferring a back three of Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire and John Stones.
Jones believes the Belgium national side aren’t an unknown quality to them, stating that the Three Lions’ players face their’s regularly in Premier League clashes.
The defender himself will be hoping he will be given the nod to start in order to impress as well as try and secure a spot in the starting XI for the Round of 16 clash.
According to Breaking News, Phil said: “It’s almost like a Premier League match, barring a few players. We know what we’re up against, we know their players inside out and know what we’ve got to do.
“We play against them near enough every week. There is more than just Lukaku to worry about and we’ve got a number of very good players in our team they need to be worried about too.”
The United star may have to impress Jose Mourinho as well given how the club have been linked to several defenders across Europe, particularly experienced ones.
It’s said the Portuguese manager is looking to bring in a proven centre-back in order to reinforce his backline and it could cost Jones his spot at Old Trafford.
