Leicester City manager Claude Puel claims it’s good Manchester United are interested in Harry Maguire but believes it’s important he remains at the club.
The Englishman is said to have garnered the interest of Jose Mourinho following his performances in the World Cup.
Maguire was key to the Three Lions’ successful run to the semi-finals were they lost to Croatia who would then go on to lose to France.
Puel is clearly happy the defender is at the heart of a transfer battle as he believes it reflects on the club and player well.
The latest reports claim United are willing to part with more than £50m to sign Harry but his manager has urged him to remain at the club.
According to Manchester Evening News, Claude said: “It is important for Maguire to continue for Leicester. It is a good feeling.
“If our players are interesting a lot of clubs it is because we are recruiting well and doing good work. It is important we continue this.
“When we welcome players back from the World Cup, I hope we can give them the opportunity to continue advancing their ambitions and perform in the Premier League.”
Maguire has no real loyalty to Leicester since he only joined them last season but it’s believed he’s not unhappy with where he is.
The centre-back though did admit he’s ambitious and has a desire to play at the top of the footballing world which could hint he’s open to the move.
Jose is said to be waiting for Harry to kick up a bit more of a fuss before moving in for him to complete the deal.
