Eric Bailly has updated Manchester United supporters on social media after another solid run out against AC Milan in the International Champions Cup opener on Thursday morning.
The 24-year-old played the whole 90 minutes as part of a back three alongside Axel Tuanzebe and Chris Smalling, looking strong once again, and also stepped up in the 9-8 penalty shoot-out triumph.
He stepped up, but saw his spot-kick saved by Pepe Reina at the start of sudden death but that didn’t affect Man United supporters’ excitement to see what he can bring throughout the 2018-19 season.
After full-time, he shared a picture of himself in action with his followers on Instagram with a caption making it clear he’s pleased with the progress he and the team are making during their pre-season tour of the United States.
Injuries have strained the Ivory Coast international’s two-year long United career so far after joining from Villareal in 2016, and he was limited to just 13 Premier League appearances last term.
Bailly is still a very inexperienced player but is widely considered as the club’s best centre-back, so plenty of fans will be praying that he’s given more game time throughout the upcoming campaign over Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
And a new centre-back… if United get their way in the market.
