The self-proclaimed “God of Manchester” visiting the squad at their pre-season training base at UCLA in Los Angeles prior to the International Champions Cup match against AC Milan earlier this week.
In an interview with MUTV, Ibrahimovic said: “It is great to see the guys and see them happy see them train good ready for this season because something special will happen and I think the boss has something going on, but I will keep that a secret. Enjoy the season, I wish you all the best.”
The 36-year-old’s quotes certainly got Man United fans excited amongst the disappointment with the club’s activity in the transfer window, and now a name has dropped that no one would have seen coming.
A number of bookmakers in the United Kingdom have astonishingly slashed the odds on Tottenham Hotspur striker and England captain Harry Kane moving to Old Trafford this summer.
Yesterday, odds on the transfer were priced at 33/1 but now stand at just 4/1 and Paddy Power spokesman Lee Price has had his say on the movement.
“We are laying Harry Kane to go to Manchester United – it’s come from nowhere. The bets have just kept on coming and we’ve had to keep slashing and slashing the price. It seems punters can’t get enough of it.”
“It appears United really could get their man and that Kane may be heading to Old Trafford.”
United are now head-to-head with 2016, ’17 and ’18 Champions League winners Real Madrid for Kane’s services, while Barcelona are priced at 33/1, Manchester City at 40/1 and Paris Saint-Germain at 60/1.
The 24-year-old has only just signed a new fie-year deal at Spurs though, so this news comes as a major surprise and I wouldn’t wait on any developments over the next two weeks if I were you.
