Manchester United will reportedly offer Juan Mata a contract extension after the conclusion of their pre-season tour.
Jose Mourinho has taken his squad to the United States of America for the summer though results haven’t gone their way, winning only once through penalties.
United have matches against Liverpool and Real Madrid before they travel to Germany to play one last friendly against Bayern Munich.
Mata has been impressive so far in pre-season but it’s believed Mourinho is only offering him a contract to ensure he’s not lost on a free transfer.
The Spaniard has failed to garner interest from other clubs and since the Portuguese boss has been unable to sell him, will offer him a new contract instead.
According to Metro, the Red Devils will over Juan a two year extension to his already one year contract to keep him at Old Trafford until 2021.
It’s all definitely in line with what Jose did with Marcos Rojo, offering the defender a new contract last season but reports have surfaced that he will be moved on.
It’s understood that Mata is keen on wrapping up his new deal as soon as possible in order to focus on his football and he’s currently happy being at Manchester United.
