Jose Mourinho’s desperate search for a right winger may have come to an end, as Manchester United have reportedly had a £66m offer for Chelsea winger Willian accepted.
The 29-year-old has been a primary target for the position this season, along with Internazionale’s Ivan Perisic and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, and Man United could be getting their man.
Willian was a shining light in Chelsea’s miserable 2017-18 season and then following it up by being one of Brazil’s better players at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Italian outlet Tuttosport claim that Chelsea have decided to accept an offer worth £66m from United for Willian, despite turning down three Barcelona offers over the past week, with the third valued at £55m.
These reports come after numerous reports in Spain state that Brazil international is “surely” switching Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford.
However, there are doubts that Tuttosport picked up their information from these though, considering the price they state is a bit lower than what has been claimed previously.
New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is said to be keen on keeping Willian at the club for the upcoming though, which has damaged United’s chances of a deal following the player’s fallout with ex-boss Antonio Conte.
This transfer story definitely has something to it – United won’t be content without a new right-sided forward before the transfer window slams shut – so it’d be wise to keep an eye on things.
