Manchester United youngster Ro-Shaun Williams reveals what it was really like going on the pre-season tour to the United States of America, admitting the fans are crazy.
The defender was a part of the youthful squad Jose Mourinho took with him abroad due to a host of his first team stars being missing.
The United players who featured in this summer’s edition of the World Cup were granted an extended holiday, particularly the ones who went into the latter stages.
Nonetheless Williams was taken aback by the amount of supporters in the States and was thoroughly happy with his experience in pre-season.
According to the club’s official website, Ro-Shaun said: “It’s been a great experience being in and around the first team everyday, learning off all the players, training with them and just being around them 24/7, it’s been really good.
“I’ve trained with the first-team before and it’s just down to business on the pitch, but off the pitch it’s crazy seeing the fans.
“Even when we’re arriving to hotels at night, the amount of fans there to see the players is crazy.
“You get to learn but you also get to know the players. Back at the Aon Training Complex there’s a different changing room so I just come in and train with them, but now I’ve got to know the people so it’s good.”
The centre-back is unlikely to get any first team action during the competitive season due to United being overstocked in the defensive position.
Along with having far too many player, Jose Mourinho is still said to be keen on bringing in yet another central defender to shore up the ranks.
