Manchester United were reportedly offered the opportunity to sign Bayern Munich star Arturo Vidal a month ago but turned him down.
The midfielder was once a serious target for the club but interest cooled, especially following Paul Pogba’s arrival from Juventus a few summers ago.
A few seasons ago Vidal would’ve been a marquee signing since he was at the peak of his powers and few could play like him.
United’s need for a tenacious, ball-winning midfielder was also clear but Jose Mourinho has the likes of Ander Herrera to fulfil that role now.
It was suggested multiple times that the Chilean was the one who didn’t wish to make the switch to Old Trafford but it appears that wasn’t the case.
Arturo Vidal was offered one month ago to Manchester City and Manchester United by his agents but both clubs discard the signement. His age and his knee (two surgeries) were the reason of the refuse even the price was reasonable. @elchiringuitotv

The Red Devils have definitely learnt from their last mistake after signing Bastian Schweinsteiger under Louis van Gaal‘s ill-fated management.
The German star was past his best and struggled with injuries at the time the investment was made so there was no real surprise when things didn’t work out.
Manchester United are also no longer desperate for top quality central midfielders as their first choice engine room consists of stars such as Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Fred.
