Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez believes Fred will prove to be an important addition to the squad later on in the season.
The Brazilian international was brought into the club this season by Jose Mourinho and ultimately proved to be the only major signing of summer.
Sanchez himself was only a United player earlier this year in the winter transfer window but has since appeared to adjust to his new surroundings.
Fred will also need time to adapt but the hope is he can do so quickly in order to bring his true quality to Mourinho’s side.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk man is said to be the key to unlocking Paul Pogba’s potential and the pair can be crucial to the Red Devils enjoying a good season.
According to Manchester Evening News, Alexis said: “I think he has a direct style of play – he goes forward. It is very important for the group, for all of us, to get to know him better.
“He has been with us for a short time, but you can already see that he is a player who wants to win, who wants to achieve things.
“He went to the World Cup and he is going to be an important addition to the team.”
During pre-season Fred was certainly direct and brought some eye-catching flair to the Manchester United first team.
Along with his skills, the 25 year old is also a capable passer and dribble, making him a rather complete midfielder.
More than anything though, it’s Fred’s dynamism that will give United a real edge against opponents with fans having grown increasingly frustrated with a static midfield.
Once Nemanja Matic returns from his injury the club’s midfield will start to look like one that belongs to a top six side.
