Telegraph: Jose Mourinho left bemused by Paul Pogba’s comments following Leicester City win

by Leo Nieboer

Jose Mourinho was left feeling bemused by Paul Pogba‘s comments following Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Leicester City last weekend, according to the Telegraph.

The Frenchman, when asked after the game whether he was happy at the club, said: “There are things I cannot say, otherwise I will get fined.”

Pogba reportedly felt exasperated at Mourinho’s comments on his performances at the World Cup in which the manager intimated that the 25-year-old had lacked focus during his time at Man United.

But according to the Telegraph‘s Sam Wallace, Mourinho was taken by surprise at Pogba’s suggestion that all was not well between the pair, and believes they have a good relationship at Old Trafford.

The 55-year-old understands he can be a provocative figure but nonetheless believes his comments are fair and essentially designed to motivate his players. To him, Pogba’s outburst stems from the influence of his agent, Mino Raiola, who Mourinho resents and with whom he refused to do business with over the transfer window.

But there is no doubt Pogba finds Mourinho to be a difficult character. And the logical conclusion to continue spates between the two would be for the Frenchman, who could start for any team in the world, to seek a new challenge elsewhere.
