Jose Mourinho has already admitted that he’s wary of Brighton & Hove Albion and the threat they bring to the table, but he’s also explained Manchester United are confident of getting a result on Sunday afternoon.
The harmony amongst the Man United squad is strong at the moment after the opening day victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford last Friday and Brighton present a similarly tricky test.
United may have fallen to a toothless 1-0 defeat at the AMEX Stadium last season, but there’s plenty more to play for this time around and it’d be very surprising to see Mourinho’s side fail to take three points back up north.
On the match, the United manager wasn’t underestimating Brighton’s quality but explained the confidence currently flowing through his players: “They bought a few new players but I think the style is the same.
“The fact that they lost the first match means obviously they are working for a reaction, they are working to improve their game, so it will be a difficult match for us, but we are confident.
“The training was really, really good all week and we go there to win, obviously. That is our main objective.”
It’s likely league favourites Manchester City will have won just hours beforehand so United will want to respond, and so they should.
