Manchester United fans were certainly encouraged by Luke Shaw‘s performance vs Brighton despite the loss they suffered.
Jose Mourinho’s men couldn’t secure back to back wins as they were defeated 3-2 away from home.
The scoreline actually reflects a better result than what the performance merited but Shaw was arguably one of United’s better players.
The Englishman got himself an assist for Romelu Lukaku’s goal and was perhaps the most impressive defender in the four man backline.
Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to keep Brighton at arms length and the Red Devils have already suffered their first loss of the season.
Luke Shaw's game by numbers vs. Brighton:
91% pass accuracy
3 tackles won
2 dribbles completed
2 interceptions
2 shots
Our only positive. He has been impressive. 💪

Manchester United’s second came with practically the last kick of the game as Paul Pogba converted from the penalty spot.
Eric Bailly was the main man criticised after having a nightmare of a performance that saw the home side easily grab three goals.
The Ivorian was responsible for Brighton’s third goal as he gave away a penalty shortly after Lukaku scored to make it 2-1 in the opposition’s favour.
United could’ve headed into the break with a scoreline they could recover from but Bailly’s mistake was a costly one.
The second half was hardly better from Mourinho’s men but Shaw was one of the players who left the pitch with his reputation hardly scathed.
