Mino Raiola launches scathing attack on Paul Scholes’ criticism of Paul Pogba

by Leo Nieboer

Paul Pogba‘s agent Mino Raiola has slammed Paul Scholes’ latest criticism of his client’s performance against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Frenchman performed poorly in the first half against Brighton, losing the ball and showing frustration with his team’s performance, and admitted at full time that his attitude wasn’t good enough.

Speaking after the game, Scholes criticised Pogba for lacking consistency in a Manchester United shirt.

“There’s lack of leaders in the team, that’s why we thought Paul Pogba might be the ideal candidate to be that leader but he wasn’t there tonight,” he said. “He had another really poor game. He’s so inconsistent.”

And Raiola, normally quiet on social media, took to Twitter to rattle the already turbulent cage of supporters.

What Scholes said on Sunday was nothing compared to the bile spewed by other B-rate pundits before and after United’s 3-2 defeat at Brighton.

Steve McMahon and Gordan Strachan have both been talking up his social media tendencies once again. Paul Ince branded him as a “nightmare”. Danny Mills described him as a “problem”. So why has Raiola chosen to pick on Scholes?

The only viable reason, of course, is dirty publicity. There is an atmosphere of gloom and frenzy among supporters at the moment. Raiola has picked his moment to stir the pot perfectly.

In a way, this article, the anger on social media, the debate between pundits, the eyes fixed further on the club – all of that is what Raiola wanted. As Sir Alex Ferguson has noted before: the man is a shitebag.
