Former Manchester United man Brian McClair has had his say on Jose Mourinho, calling the manager the right man for the job.
The Portuguese boss has been under increasing pressure of late due to the club’s shock loss to Brighton last Sunday.
However, a bad mood has been gathering at United for a few weeks now for various reasons.
The club’s pre-season tour was dire and the lack of action in the transfer market was arguably worse.
However, McClair believes whoever’s at the helm should be backed regardless of what’s going on until they’re no longer there.
According to Manchester Evening News, Brian said: “Whoever is the coach at United is the right person for the job, Jose is doing that the way he wants to.
“The players have to please the coach and the coach has to please the owners, all are still in their posts and they require our support until that situation changes.
“Each and every game is important for a variety of reasons, in order to challenge for titles, you need to win at home and take points from one’s title rivals, therefore of course it is important to win on Monday evening against Spurs.”
It’s safe to say the majority of the Red Devils’ fan base believes Jose is still the man to lead them back to former glory.
They certainly would love for a more exciting brand of football but they’re probably more disappointed with the board than the manager.
Manchester United’s owners’ failure to back Mourinho in the transfer market made no sense as they didn’t decide to fire him either.
The former Chelsea boss has been left with more or less the same squad with only minor changes made to the overall team.
