<—Article Start—>Jose Mourinho’s long-running rivalry with the British media took a new turn after Manchester United slumbered to a 3-2 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend as he refused to answer specific questions about his players.
The Man United manager is evidently not happy with recent reports about the morale around his squad and has once again shown an act of defiance towards the press in his pre-match press conference for Monday’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham visit Old Trafford after winning their opening two games and Mourinho seems to be fully focused on bouncing back after recording what was potentially his quickest press conference ever on Friday.
When asked about his happiness with his squad after the woeful showing at the AMEX Stadium, Mourinho stayed: “You know my answer. I do not need to answer because I do not even know sometimes why I am here, because you know everything.
“During the week it looks like you show that you know everything then I come here and you ask me questions. It’s a bit strange.”
There is always plenty of truthful and false information reported in the media surrounding Man United and Mourinho clearly isn’t most pleased with the coverage of his team.
He’ll be hoping to make some positive reports for Tuesday morning’s front pages by grabbing a huge three points against Spurs which would lead United back into the mix amongst the other Premier League title contenders.
