Luke Shaw has been voted as Manchester United’s ‘Player of the Month’ for August following a superb start to the season at Old Trafford.
The Englishman, consigned to the periphery of things last season, went to Dubai for a week of hot weather training prior to pre-season and was, as a result, one of the best performers in the United States.
And he has been the club’s best player this season by some distance, claiming the ‘Man of the Match’ award against Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur alongside flourishing on the left hand side against Burnley on Sunday.
He was duly awarded the title of United’s best player, with nobody else coming remotely close.

This is without doubt the best we’ve seen from Shaw since that period of games in 2015 prior to his horrific leg break against PSV Eindhoven. He returned in good time but the scars of that injury were enduring, and have plagued his time at United under Mourinho.
But following a summer of enormous graft he is reaping the rewards. There is an extra sense of power to his running. An added feeling of composure. Nobody has looked sharper in the nascent stages of the season. United are, without question, a better team with him in the starting XI.
