Former Manchester City star Maicon has predicted Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will get through his difficult time.
The Portuguese manager has been torn to shreds by sections of the media who’ve attacked him for any reason possible, even writing articles on him tripping.
Mourinho’s been made favourite to lose his position at United ahead of any other Premier League manager despite it being just one month into the season.
The former Chelsea man led the club to Europa League and League Cup wins along with second placed finishes in the Premier League and FA Cup so far.
Maicon believes Jose is too good a manager to fail to navigate his way through the tough period he’s currently enduring.
According to Manchester Evening News, Maicon said: “Mourinho, not only for me, but he was extraordinary for all the players in our squad.
“He managed to motivate everyone to the maximum and he made every one of us very important.
“Mourinho is a great manager and I don’t have any doubt that he will get through this difficult time.”
Thankfully for Mourinho things have gotten a little easier due to the Red Devils’ back to back wins against Burnley and Watford.
If the players can build a good run of form then they’ll surely relieve some pressure from their manager’s shoulders.
Though there were several factors in him getting into his current difficult situation, Manchester United’s two loses out of their three opening fixtures saw the heat turned up on him more than anything else.
