Manchester United fans were certainly excited by Diogo Dalot’s performance vs Young Boys as he impressed on his debut.
The teenager was handed a start in the Champions League fixture, getting supporters on their toes almost immediately.
With Antonio Valencia rested for the match, it was the perfect opportunity for the Portuguese to make his mark.
It’s fair to say fans are already optimistic with Diogo and there’s already hopes he can keep his place in the side.
Big fan of Diogo Dalot's opening 20 minutes. Looks one hell of a player.

Dalot already surpassed Valencia with his first accurate cross into the box.

Am very happy that Luke Shaw has effectively retired Ashley Young.
Dalot could retire Valencia at this rate.

Diogo Dalot has already run past his fullback more times in 45 minutes than Valencia since 2011

Dalot’s adventurous runs and crossing ability is actually a little reminiscent of Valencia at his peak.
The Ecuadorian was an excellent right-winger a few seasons ago and often linked up remarkably well with Wayne Rooney.
Those days are over though and despite Antonio reinventing himself into a full-back, he could still see himself lose his spot to Diogo.
Jose Mourinho clearly thinks highly of the former Porto man and time is certainly on his side to eventually become the first choice in that position.
As impressive as Dalot was going forward, it was his defending that was also reassuring as he was solid for the majority of the match.
