Manchester United supporters serenaded Anthony Martial with his song after the Frenchman produced a scintillating second half display against Young Boys in the Champions League.
Martial, making just his second start of the season, begun the game slowly but played like a man possessed after the break.
Time and time again he was turning and skipping past defenders, driving into space purposefully in a second half which saw him claim his first goal since January, stroking home from Paul Pogba’s pass to hand Man United their third.
A touching moment followed at full-time. Martial, who has spent so much of 2018 in the shadows, allowed himself to bask in the love of supporters – the main reason why he didn’t leave in the summer – as they belted out his song.

Make no mistake: whatever problems Martial may have had with his manager, the love he has for United fans is unquestionable.
More importantly, perhaps, United fans love him – and it is because of performances like tonight. Martial is a player who, at his best, can terrorise defenders with his sharp, dagger-like running with the ball. That flow he gets into, when he’s just kind of barrelling forward in one gorgeous, effervescent motion, strikes right at the heart of what United fans love to see.
This is a club whose supporters have always loved and expected to see direct, powerful running from out wide. That is such a foundation for their success. And Martial gives them that. Supporters will hope he continues to do so this season.
