Man of the match: Paul Pogba steals the show vs Young Boys

Manchester United star Paul Pogba ran the show vs Young Boys in the Champions League opener on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman was named captain for the clash and definitely put in a top class performance to win the game for his side.

United needed to ensure they would pick up all three points away from home since they are set to come up against Juventus and Valencia later on in the season.

Pogba’s two goals and assist helped to secure the crucial win and kick off the club’s European campaign in style.

The midfielder was a topic of discussion pre-match and it’s safe to say he kept his critics quiet on the night.

The goals, assist and passing accuracy are all arguably things one would expect from Paul but it’s his ball recoveries and tackles that show how complete he is.

The former Juventus man was impressive in that department all summer in the World Cup with France but he’s also continued that form with his club.

The Red Devils are definitely benefitting from a more willing Pogba and the hope is that he can now replicate that performance against top opposition.

For all his critics, the academy product has shown countless times he has the ability to perform on the highest stage.
