Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Marouane Fellaini will be fit to play for Manchester United against Chelsea on Saturday.
The midfielder missed a couple of training sessions for Belgium last week and did not feature against either Switzerland or the Netherlands.
Fellaini’s absence from the team, along with Nemanja Matic missing the international break altogether, has prompted supporters to wonder which midfield combination Jose Mourinho will choose at Stamford Bridge from his limited options.
But Martinez, speaking after his side’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands, noted that Fellaini would be fine for the trip to Stamford Bridge.
“He should be fine, it’s just he wasn’t 100 per cent,” he said.
“He’s got an important game at the weekend and this wasn’t the game to use players who weren’t 100 per cent. We expect he should be fine in the next couple of days.”
