Serie A midfielder Nicolo Barella pleased to be linked with Manchester United

Manchester United-linked Nicolo Barella has spoken of his delight at reports of possible interest from the Premier League club.

The midfielder plays in Serie A for Cagliari but has constantly had to insist that he is not going to leave the club this year.

There has been significant and consistent interest from a number of big Premier League clubs. Arsenal recently scouted Barella while Man United have been linked to the 23-year-old since January. Liverpool, too, have been mentioned.

Barella has admitted that he loves the reports suggesting interest from United.

“I’m not the one who sorts out the transfers,” Barella first insisted, as per CalcioMercato, via Sport Witness..

“It’s the agents, presidents and clubs who do that. I only think about Cagliari and to stay up in the league.

“We’ll see about the rest. The interest from big clubs is pleasing, and makes me proud. It means I’m doing the right things.”

Barella has a release clause of €50 million at Cagliari and it won’t be long before a top European club make a move. That could be United, although Italian outlet Gazzette dello Sport report that Arsenal are the most recent side to watch Barella and that the Gunners “noted down his qualities”.
