Alexis Sanchez was not present for Manchester United’s training session on Monday ahead of their Champions League clash with Juventus at Old Trafford.
The Chilean played for his country over the international break and came on during the latter stages of Man United’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Saturday.
He has not started a game for United since failing to impress during the club’s last Champions League game – a poor 0-0 draw with Valencia at home.
And the BBC‘s Simon Stone has confirmed that Sanchez did not take part in the side’s training session at Carrington on Monday.

Diogo Dalot, Marouane Fellaini, Scott McTominay, Jesse Lingard and Victor Lindelof, who started against Chelsea, were also absent from the training session. Antonio Valencia has made a return to training and will likely start ahead of Ashley Young. Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to be his direct opponent on that channel.
As for Sanchez, his absence is something of a mystery – he did not appear to pick up any injury at Stamford Bridge – but supporters will regardless want to see more of Anthony Martial, who dazzled against Chelsea with a superbly taken second half brace. The whole team will need to attack with venom against a militantly organised Juventus team.
