Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t have the most influential of performances in Juventus’ professional 1-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford, but he left the pitch in a special manner.
The Portuguese remains a hero in Manchester after tearing up Premier League and European defences from 2003 to 2009 while in the Red of Man United.
His impact in that era, as United reached a stunning three UEFA Champions League finals in four years and won three consecutive Premier League titles, was enormous. He’s still hugely loved.
So when he left the pitch alone after a couple of pitch invaders had taken selfies with him, Ronaldo was serenaded by those still left at Old Trafford. It was a touching moment that brings the goosebumps and the smiles out.

Unlike when he first came back to Old Trafford with Real Madrid in 2013, there was little singing of Ronaldo’s name prior to kick off. But this moment after was special for everyone in the stadium.
It was a great moment between a hero and the fans he used to treat every week with his skills, goals and brilliance.
