Paul Pogba hails the “Martial touch” in Manchester United’s win against Everton

Paul Pogba has insisted that no one should be surprised by the quality of Anthony Martial’s recent performances.

The Manchester United teammates are compatriots, although Martial has rarely been in the France national squad in the last year.

After netting twice against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League last weekend as Man United drew 2-2, Martial scored again in the Reds’ 2-1 victory against Everton at home.

Pogba also scored, netting the rebound from a missed penalty in the first half, and hailed Martial’s talent. The young forward has now scored five times this season, and hit the back of the net four times in his last three league games.

“Nobody should be surprised by his performance or his talent,” Pogba said about Martial while talking to Sky Sports after the game.

“He’s still very young and he shows every week that he’s got more confidence and he’s having more minutes.

“Everybody knows Martial and today he showed again his Martial touch.”

Martial has impressed greatly, even though he was poor in midweek in a 1-0 los to Juventus.

It’s now important that United boss Jose Mourinho keeps starting Martial in every game. He’s praised him in the last couple of weeks which is a positive development in the pair’s relationship.
