Manchester United spring no line-up surprises vs Brighton

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn’t sprung any surprises with his confirmed starting XI vs Brighton.

The Norwegian has opted to continue trusting the players who have helped him win six out of all six games he’s managed so far.

A win against the away side will be crucial not just to keep the confidence high but to capitalise on any slip-ups in the Arsenal vs Chelsea clash.

A front three of Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford has served Solskjaer well so far and he’ll be hoping they can unlock what will likely be a stubborn Brighton defence.

The midfield three of Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba starred in the 1-0 defeat of Tottenham and fans will be hoping they can keep up the good work.

The back four compromises of veteran Ashley Young, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones and youngster Luke Shaw.

The two centre-backs have managed to keep clean-sheets three matches in a row and will be confident of keeping another.

David de Gea is probably the first name on the team-sheet regardless of the occasion and supporters will be hoping his heroics won’t be needed today as it was against Tottenham.

Alexis Sanchez and Eric Bailly return to the match-day squad but only as substitutes.
