Massimiliano Allegri: I won’t deceive myself with such fantasies

by Marwan Harraz

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has seemingly ruled out a move for Manchester United star Paul Pogba despite several reports claiming a return was possible.

The Frenchman enjoyed a bountiful time during his years in Italy before moving back to his boyhood club under Jose Mourinho.

Ironically enough it was believed that due to the breakdown in the relationship between the pair, Pogba was stated to desire a move away.

Whilst Real Madrid, Barcelona and even PSG were said to be possible destinations, some claimed a return to Juventus was on the cards too.

Allegri was the man who helped develop Paul into the world-class midfielder he is today but the Italian believes such a transfer is merely a fantasy.

According to the Express, Massimo said: “Oh my… you [journalists] have such fantasies. I think that a return of Pogba to Juventus is very, very unlikely.

“I will not deceive myself, I think it will be really hard to see Pogba come back.”

Juventus probably don’t have the funds needed to sign Pogba any longer having brought in former Manchester United man Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.

Any team in the world would make room for the academy man if he wished it but if he were to leave it would be in the future and probably only to either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Paul is now a happier player under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s management and has put in his best performances in a red shirt so far.
