Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mike Phelan jumped on a private jet soon after Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Leicester City to watch Champions League last 16 opponent Paris Saint Germain lose 2-1 to Lyon on Sunday night.

The pair had overseen Man United grind out a scrappy win against Claude Puel’s side, with Marcus Rashford scoring the game’s only goal on nine minutes.

They then saw PSG lose its first league game of the season as goals from Moussa Dembele and Nabil Fekir crowned a ruthlessly organised and energetic performance to give Lyon a deserved win.

Solskjaer and Phelan, wearing some funny looking hats, were watching on intently as they cook up a game-plan for the first leg at Old Trafford on February 12.

It’s going to be a night to remember at Old Trafford for fans that get to go to the game and if you want to check out the availability of Manchester United hospitality

PSG are thrillingly good going forward and will, without doubt, score goals against Man United.

But this is a team which, for all its glitz and prestige, can be deeply unsettled if your team can press the right buttons.

Lyon’s game plan was quite simple: to take advantage of Marquinhos in defensive midfield by flooding the area in behind him with precise passes and darting runs, inviting attacking players to attack the space. It unsettled PSG, who deserved to lose, and Solskjaer will know United can do the same thing to the French champions.
