Alexis Sanchez: Manchester United can beat anyone

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez has backed his team to go past PSG in the upcoming Champions League clash.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will play hosts as the French champions come to Old Trafford for the knockout stages of Europe’s top competition.

United aren’t the favourites and truthfully aren’t expected to go too far in cup but fans are hopeful nonetheless.

Solskjaer’s reign has seen him unbeaten as of yet and Sanchez believes his side are capable of defeating anybody.

The Red Devils have been impressive and wins over Tottenham and Arsenal weren’t taken lightly by supporters.

According to the Mirror, Alexis said: “United is a club with so much history and is capable of beating any rival. If we win at Old Trafford and we don’t concede, then I think we would be favourites for the second leg.

“I think we can do that and I see this United team with a lot of chances to score in Paris.”

A clean sheet will be crucial given the away goals rule meaning if United grabbed a goal in Paris they would have a strong advantage.

Everyone knows Ole has massively improved his side’s attacking capabilities but his defensive work has gone a little unnoticed.

Though they’re not perfect, the Red Devils defence has ironically looked stronger than during predecessor Jose Mourinho’s time.

The Portuguese boss is notoriously known for his defensive football but it appears Solskjaer’s method of playing on the front foot has left Manchester United’s defenders less exposed.

Either way, even the best defences struggle against the attacking talents of PSG and United will have to be at their best to keep a clean-sheet.
