Manchester United fans were thoroughly displeased with duo Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata for their largely anonymous display vs PSG.
The pair came on for Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard who both suffered injuries in the first half.
In the second half the French champions stepped up a gear and scored two crucial away goals that will likely be difficult to recover from.
Supporters feel Sanchez and Mata didn’t offer the same threat as Martial and Lingard did before they were hauled off.
If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stays on as United manager it’s tough to imagine them remaining at the club for the long-term.
Really disappointing night. Just expected so much more from the team. Tbf, the game plan when totally out of the window when Lingard and Martial went off. We were using their pace and then had to make do with Sanchez/Mata, who couldn’t be more different.

I’ve been so quick to highlight Ole’s great tactics but bringing on Mata was an awful, awful sub. Trying to counter an incredibly good PSG defence with Mata and Sanchez was just not going to happen. Then the time taken to bring Lukaku on was painfully too long.

Safe to say that Sanchez and Mata are done at the highest level. As is Ashley Young. Need upgrades at the back and in midfield. A LOT of work to do for the new director of football. It’s been great under Ole until now but the technical superiority was clear to see. #FullTimeDoc

I'd rather United played Lukaku wide over Mata or Sanchez. He's not the greatest option there but at least he has the pace and power to go past defenders. When these two come on or play it sucks the life right out the team. Shot Rooney is better than both

Heavy investment needed. Sanchez and mata need to be offloaded in the summer and we desperately need a CB and RB. Sanchez especially he’s a disgrace.

Once Lingard and Martial came off, PSG moved up the pitch down the sides. Why? Sánchez and Mata do not offer the same threat at all and they take longer to recover.
It happens.

Juan’s inability to impress under Solskjaer’s tutelage can be understood given how he doesn’t suit the fast paced, direct style of football.
However, Alexis is a winger and should have the ability to slot into this side with ease but has still struggled.
The Chilean is truly running out of time to justify his wages with fans losing their patience with him.
Mata’s playmaking ability may be of better use elsewhere on the pitch but on the right-wing he’s a fish out of water.
Supporters are rightfully concerned that the moment Ole is forced into making a change to his usual starting XI, the team suffers tremendously.
