Manchester United fans have been unable to hide their delight with Sir Alex Ferguson‘s return to Old Trafford for the 20th anniversary of the club’s famous Champions League victory.
In 1999, the Scot’s side created history by snatching victory from the jaws of defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.
It’s there that Sir Alex truly began to mark his extraordinary managerial ability and silence the critics.
Current caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was actually the man to score the winner during remarkable scenes.
Supporters have thoroughly missed Ferguson’s genius in the dugout but they will get to witness it once more this summer.

Since Sir Alex retired there’s no doubt the club have struggled to fill in his shoes.
David Moyes was bizarrely tasked with the most difficult role in the world and failed miserably.
Louis van Gaal tried to pick up the pieces after him and initially steadied the ship before failing to meet the board’s targets.
Jose Mourinho succeeded the Dutchman and won the Carabao Cup and Europa League before eventually overseeing a completely broken down United.
Solskjaer has now taken over as caretaker manager from the Portuguese and there’s even been calls for him to be handed the role permanently.
