Manchester United star Ander Herrera has admitted his agent has been holding talks with other clubs amid links to PSG.
The French champions are said to be closing in on signing the Spaniard for free this summer in what will be a huge loss for the club.
Not only for the quality of Herrera but also due to how United won’t bring in any funds from letting him go.
The former Atletico Bilbao man has proven himself to be central to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s plans so far and having to replace him will prove troublesome.
The midfielder’s tenacity and ability to break up play will be sorely missed if he’s allowed to leave Old Trafford.
According to Team Talk, Ander said: “It is logical (PSG interest and a possible United exit) when you are into your final three months of contract.
“I knew that something would come out. I am handling it normally and concentrating on playing football between now and the end of the season.
“I am leaving the rest to my agent – both discussions with United over a contract extension and talks with other clubs over a potential move.
“I am not concerning myself with whether or not my Premier League adventure will be over in four months – I do not know. I am enjoying myself with England’s biggest club, where the supporters appreciate me.
“They treat me exceptionally well, so I must listen, even if I do not know what will happen.”
Some fans believe Herrera is using PSG’s interest to get himself on a higher pay bracket but it is worrying nonetheless how reports have continued to grow.
Given the wages the Ligue 1 side can afford to pay him, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if he decides to leave a club he loves since he doesn’t feel adequately valued.
In fairness to Ander, this could be his last big contract and so it makes sense that he may wish to ensure it’s as high as possible in terms of figures.
