Marcus Rashford not interested in Barcelona move: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is reportedly not interested in moving to Barcelona after rumours emerged over a possible transfer.

The Spanish side are said to be keen on signing a young striker who can eventually replace the ageing Luis Suarez.

Rashford’s fine form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen his profile increase tremendously with top clubs around Europe interested in making him their own.

Fans were never overly concerned with the youngster’s potential departure but given how talks over a new contract have dragged on, some grew nervous.

The academy product can be United’s main striker for the next decade if he wished and tying him down can ensure that.

According to the Mirror, Marcus has ‘no desire’ to leave Old Trafford and is in line to double his £75k a week deal as contract negotiations stall.

£150k a week has become pretty standard for a player of his quality and so it shouldn’t take long to conclude the deal.

The Red Devils have started to grow a bit of a reputation as tough negotiators with several players’ contracts taking long periods to renew.

The board also have a reputation of being disorganised with many of the club’s stars seemingly being allowed to enter the final year of their contracts.
