The Englishman had started the fixture effectively as a centre-back when his side were out of possession but as a full-back when in possession of the ball.
Young has been in poor form for a few matches now as he continues to decline at a staggering rate.
Though the veteran hasn’t really put in a top performance in quite some time, his performances have deteriorated rather quickly.
Ashley’s sending off handed the initiative to Wolves who happily scored to win the crucial fixture 2-1.
Oh but Ashley Young tries.. Oh but he gives his all for the shirt.. Puts his body on the line…
Absolute nonsense. Those are all prerequisites of being a professional footballer at the highest level. Those are intrinsic. You also need ability.
The best Crosser? Hell.

In game management I felt has been poor, Lingard should’ve come off and Lukaku stayed on. Young was having a terrible game and nothing was done about it. #mufc

United only have themselves to blame for both of the goals they conceded but perhaps more frustratingly for their lack of clinical edge in front of the opposition goal.
There were enough chances to finish off Wolves at the start of the game before the home side grew in confidence.
Though it wasn’t solely Young’s fault, his performance would’ve encouraged the Red Devils’ opponents to take the game by the scruff of the neck.
The former Aston Villa man will obviously be suspended and if there’s any good news it’s that he wasn’t given a straight red so it should mean a swift return to action.
