Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane open to departure: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United target and Real Madrid star Raphael Varane is reportedly open to leaving his current club as rumours emerge of his desire for a new challenge.

The Frenchman is widely regarded as one of the top centre-backs in the world and his age certainly makes him an attractive prospect to invest in.

United have been linked with Varane ever since Jose Mourinho first arrived at Old Trafford but rumours have grown even more recently.

The 25 year old would be the ideal signing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side as he would add immediate quality to the side and would likely remain for the next five seasons at least.

Raphael was previously thought of as an impossible signing to make but now that there’s a hint of it being realistic, some fans want the Red Devils to go all out to sign him.

€100m is quite the fee but it would be understandable given how it’s only a little more Manchester United used to sign Paul Pogba a few years back.

It wouldn’t be silly to suggest the players are close in quality to each other so it makes sense the fees would be similar.

The transfer market has continuously gotten more ridiculous by the season so it’s not the craziest fee being reported at the moment.
