Antonio Conte targeting Romelu Lukaku as Inter manager: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku could reportedly be set to depart with Inter Milan looking to shake things up this summer.

The Italian club have struggled to challenge Juventus for the Serie A title with more than 20 points separating the two.

Inter are widely expected to qualify for the Champions League but it seems as though it’s not enough for the club’s board.

This could see Antonio Conte brought in to help them challenge for a title that he’s already won before.

Lukaku’s agent has recently hinted at a potential move to Italy and rumours have continued to grow over his future at United.

According to the Daily Star, La Repubblica report that if Conte is brought in, he will look to invest in the Belgian as a replacement for Mauro Icardi.

Marcus Rashford has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s first choice striker and that could spell the end for Romelu.

Despite improving under the Norwegian, it’s clear that the Englishman is favoured for his pace and mobility.

Lukaku is a proven goalscorer but there are some who believe he needs more to succeed at Manchester United.

The faith put in Rashford could see the former Everton man pushed out of the club as Solskjaer aims to overhaul the squad.
