Manchester United hit stumbling block in Aaron Wan-Bissaka chase: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United have reportedly hit a stumbling block in their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

It was always believed a deal for the youngster would be difficult to conclude but no one had expected the London club to play hard-ball this much.

United’s desire to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer is no secret and so targeting the Englishman made sense.

However, they may need to look elsewhere since Palace are asking for a little bit too much for Wan-Bissaka.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted he wants to invest smartly and not just bring in big names but this deal can no longer be considered a smart one.

According to the Independent, Crystal Palace are under no pressure to sell Aaron and so are looking for over £70m from the Red Devils to part ways with him.

Solskjaer’s need to bring in a right-back might not be so desperate, especially considering how Jose Mourinho invested in one just last summer.

While Diogo Dalot isn’t completely ready to star regularly next season, he does have to be given a chance to develop and transition into a starting XI role.

After all, the Portuguese has been impressive in his short career at Old Trafford so far and deserves a shot rather than paying far too much for similar prospects.
