Manchester United chase for Joao Felix may be lost cause: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United’s chase for Benfica star Joao Felix may reportedly be a lost cause after an important development recently occurred.

The Portuguese is perhaps the most wanted teenager in the world alongside Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt and with no surprise given his performances.

The striker has quickly emerged as a target of United’s after it was revealed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to add goals to his attacking options.

Felix would add quality depth to the Norwegian’s current squad but whether he’s worth the figures mentioned remains to be seen.

Manchester City’s interest was also apparent which seemingly increased the youngster’s asking price.

According to the Daily Mail, AS report that Joao is interested in a move to Atletico Madrid after being convinced by his agent Jorge Mendes to complete a transfer, putting the Red Devils and City’s interest in danger.

The Spanish side would be able to offer Champions League football but the Citizens could also do the same.

Madrid aren’t the richest of sides so it’s a surprise to see them linked with the expensive Felix.

However, if the Benfica star is convinced on a move to the La Liga side then that could decrease the price needed to sign him.
