Manchester United to use Andreas Pereira in Harry Maguire chase

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United will reportedly attempt to conclude a deal with Leicester City regarding Harry Maguire by using Andreas Pereira in negotiations.

The Brazilian has struggled to make a true impact at Old Trafford but had impressive spells during the last season.

The youngster is in desperate need of more minutes but given United’s interest in signing new midfielders, he may struggle to get them.

Meanwhile, Maguire remains a top target of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s but there is an issue between the two clubs regarding his evaluation.

The Norwegian clearly hopes to resolve his side’s defensive woes but not at the expense of a huge chunk of his summer transfer budget.

According to the Sun, the Red Devils’ will offer Andreas to Leicester City but only on a loan deal in the hopes it will reduce their £90m asking price for Harry.

A loan deal works for both signs given how the Foxes have also lost Youri Tielemans back to parent club AS Monaco.

However, that’s unlikely to have too much of an impact on their asking price for Maguire as Leicester will be keen on making as much money from the deal as possible.

If anything, the Englishman could rake in enough money for the club that they could instead buy whatever midfielder they want instead of bringing in loan players.
