Manchester United forced to search elsewhere after Adrien Rabiot blow

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United have reportedly missed out on signing PSG star Adrien Rabiot with Juventus snapping him up on a free transfer.

The Frenchman was believed to be the ideal player to replace Ander Herrera with given how little it would cost to sign him.

The Spaniard left at the end of his contract after negotiations over a renewal broke down, leaving United racing to find someone to bring in.

Rabiot was believed to be that player and would’ve been perfect given his age as well the fee needed to complete the transfer.

Arsenal were also said to be chasing his signature but it appears both Premier League clubs have missed out.

According to the Sun, Adrien has signed a £120k a week deal until 2024 with Juventus which leaves the Red Devils’ toiling over finding a new target to replace Herrera with.

The wages mentioned would’ve definitely been doable for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side so the reason they missed out must be to do with their lack of Champions League football.

At Juventus, Rabiot is almost guaranteed not just elite European competition but also trophies given the side’s grip on the Serie A title.

Manchester United meanwhile have just endured a disappointing season and don’t seem to be on the rise just yet.
