Manchester United will reportedly chase Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s signature, potentially due to Paul Pogba‘s recent declaration to leave.
The Frenchman has been the story of the summer having announced a desire for a new challenge, leaving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a headache to resolve that he probably didn’t want or need.
Meanwhile, it’s not the first time United have been linked with the Serbian as it was believed he was chased all last summer as a potential partner to Pogba.
Lazio at the time wanted an incredible fee for his signature so a move didn’t transpire but Solskjaer may have better luck than Jose Mourinho.
If Paul is allowed to leave then his departure wouldn’t be felt as much should the 24 year old be brought in successfully.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils are set to open talks for Sergej after the player’s agent flew in to London on Saturday with his price-tag believed to be not as high as it was last summer.
There are question marks whether this would still be the right move to make given the midfielder’s inconsistent form last season.
Milinkovic-Savic also doesn’t suit Ole’s transfer policy of signing young, emerging, British talent so it may not happen after all.
