Manchester United not giving up on Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff just yet

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United are reportedly readying themselves once more as they step up their efforts to sign Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff.

The young midfielder suits Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer policy as he is an emerging, British talent who can improve at Old Trafford.

United are lacking real depth or quality in their engine room after losing both Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini over the past seven months without replacing either one.

Even when the pair were at the club, fans felt their midfield could do with some star power as Paul Pogba was arguably the only standout player.

Longstaff may not be a marquee signing but Solskjaer can turn him into one as he aims to do the same with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.

According to the Northern Echo, the Red Devils are gearing themselves up for a new bid for Sean as they see him as a midfielder who can tie things together in midfield for Ole.

Newcastle were said to be asking for £50m while the legendary Norwegian’s side are not really willing to go above £30m.

Manchester United have been held hostage so far all summer long with their signings and it’s unlikely that will change any time soon.
