Romelu Lukaku has strongly hinted in a picture with his agent that a move to Serie A was entering its concluding stages.
The Belgian, who felt left out by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season, has been in protracted talks with Inter Milan over a move to the San Siro.
Reports yesterday claimed that Lukaku, having returned from pre-season tour, would travel with his agent to Belgium for talks which were expected to advance considerably over the next 48 hours.
Lukaku’s decision to go public with the talks, claiming they were “soon to be continued”, suggests the move is in the home straight.
There has been plenty of back and forth between Manchester United and Inter. The latter initially proposed a bid of £54m. More recently, the figure being quoted Gianluca Di Marzio is £63m. However, United wish to make a profit on the £75m they paid for him in 2017.
Then again, perhaps his agent is instead fleshing out a deal with Juventus? The Old Lady, according to Fabrizio Romano, is willing to dispense with Paulo Dybala as part of a swap deal for the forward.
