Manchester United on the brink of completing Harry Maguire transfer

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United are reportedly set to complete a deal with Leicester City for Harry Maguire, potentially ending one of the summer’s biggest transfer sagas.

The solid Englishman has his doubters but for the most part fans are excited at his arrival as it would boost an area that has been short of top talent for quite some time.

The ball-playing centre-back is certainly better than the likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo and so his presence is desperately needed.

United have attempted to negotiate a fee for Maguire for the majority of the summer but Leicester have held firm over their asking price.

A compromise was always expected to be reached but the longer the talks went on, the more fans felt the deal would not happen.

Doubts over Harry have more to do with the money being spent on him rather than the talent he actually has.

Some reports have claimed the Red Devils will have to spend in excess of £75m to get the talented 26 year old which has left a few supporters stating he’s not worth that amount.

Perhaps the club’s board feel the same way and so that’s what has held up negotiations, seemingly until now.
